The 2019 Kia Sorento SX Limited: The Evolution of a Crossover SUV

All 2018 Kia Sorento models now have 3 row/7-passenger seating, redesigned front and rear fascia and all the latest active safety technology features needed to help prevent accidents.

The 2.0 liter turbocharged base engine has been dropped and replaced with a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder that generates 185 horsepower. The 2019 Sorento offers a choice of six levels that includes the L, LX, LXV6, EXV6, SX and SX Limited (SXL).

The L and LX entry models are powered by a 2.4 liter four-cylinder engine that gets 185 horsepower. The EPA ratings are 22 mpg city and 29 highway. The LXV6, EXV6, SX and SX Limited come with 3.3-liter V6 fuel injected engines that generate 290 horsepowers and average 19 mpg city and 24 highway.

I drove the top-of-line 2019 Sorento SXL AWD around for a week. The SXL is classy, luxurious and comes fully loaded with the latest technology features. Budget shoppers can get the Sorento L for $25,990, and the prince range goes up to $46,490 for those who want more power and luxury features.

The SXL not only has the look and feel of a premium luxury SUV, but comes loaded with high tech safety equipment thats usually found in that class. Including smart cruise control, lane departure warning, forward collision avoidance with pedestrian detection, blind spot monitoring, lane assist, and more.

The 2019 Sorento is slightly smaller and priced lower than many of its competitors, which includes the Honda Pilot, Ford Explorer, Nissan Pathfinder, Dodge Durango, and the Toyota Highlander. The Sorento also comes with more standard features and 10 year/100,000 mile powertrain and 5 year/60,000 mile limited and roadside warranties.
